Based on writing, storytelling, or short narratives, Corentin Darré creates installations that materialize an actantial scheme within the exhibition space. His sculptural works take the form of architectural elements — such as cabins, pontoons, or facades—like spaces that have escaped from fiction. Within these fragments, he inserts images (still or moving), words, and objects: items that suggest the narrative thread at play, acting as compasses or markers to guide visitors. Corentin Darré subverts legends and figures that shape the collective imagination. By reversing the moral warning often embedded in them, he invents new mythical representations and questions the world’s attitudes toward otherness. He tells the stories of those who have been accused, hunted, and condemned: homosexuals, queer people, and marginalized beings. He twists myths, overturns dominant moralities, and transforms curses into mirrors of social violence. In his stories, the monster is the one created by rejection —the one forced into wandering by blows and insults. Between tragedy and resistance, his works weave new mythologies in which queerness becomes central, inhabiting the folds of a collective imagination that has long been hostile.
