Magali Reus: Red Roses brings together a selection of some of the most recent sculptural and photographic works of the London-based artist. Magali Reus (b. 1981, The Hague) explores our relationship with familiar objects, found in our immediate environments. Applying a sensuous material intelligence and precise compositional grammar, Magali Reus coaxes out relations between craft-based and technological production, the works destabilize material identity and association.
Recently, and more distinctly presented in this publication, Magali Reus’s latest works have deepened an interest in ecology and systems of production, considering the tensions between nature, technology, and the impact of post-industrial human activity.
Published as part of Magali reu's solo exhibition, Le Plat Principal, held at the CAC - la synagogue de Delme from March 11th to June 4th 2023.
