Raphaela Vogel and the Fist Fuckers

Raphaela Vogel

2025

35€

This catalogue was published to coincide with the exhibitions Die Dressur des Raumes. Zikkurat der totem Winkel (30.11.2024 - 02.03.2025) at the Kunsthalle Giessen, and International Comparison (06.07 - 20.12.2024) at the Centre d'art contemporain - la synagogue in Delme.

This catalogue follows on from Raphaela Vogel's previous publications and presents a recent overview of the artist's work, who develops a unique formal language in her sculptural installations, which are both monumental and complex.
Raphaela Vogel's works often consist of sound and music collages, as well as video films inserted into complex sculptural installations. Operating between sensation and contemplation, narrative and subtext, and using both the artist's own creations and salvaged objects, her works float in a balance whose complex content does not allow for a univocal reading, but rather opens up to a multitude of socio-cultural and historical references. Historical research and the study of spatial structures, places and architecture are at the heart of this book.
